CURRENT CO-OP SEEKERS The following homeschoolers have posted thier information below in hopes of being contacted by a homeschooling co-op in their area. If you have room in your co-op for their particular family configuration, please contact them via the e-mail addresses provided below. August 1, 2005 SPECIAL NOTE: Reach Home Learners Group Seeking New Members Reach home learners group is back to regular meet ups starting Sept. 16/05.  Join us on the last three Fridays of each month at the First Unitarian Church, located at 5575 W. Saanich Road.  Mornings will include art and science classes, while the afternoon is free time for member's choice.  Last year free time included crafts, board games, guest speakers, outdoor/indoor free play, pet day, science day and seasonal celebrations.  Other Friday activities included field trips, hiking and community service.  Monthly fees, to cover rental space are $20 per family. As part of  the group, if your child participates in group activities (crafts, field trips etc.) outside of classes, parents will be expected to take a turn in planning an activity or supplying crafts etc.   Art and science classes are optional and fees are paid directly to the instructors in accordance with their individual registration policies.  For more information on classes, see below.  For more information on joining the Reach group, please contact Michelle at mjwille@shaw.ca Art - 4Cats Arts Academy Joey Simon is bringing her wonderful, lively and enriching art classes to the Reach group!  "Each month is dedicated to a specific artist. "Explore the hows and whys of our world in this fun and hands on science class for home learners. Through experiments, projects, games, art and more, the learner gets a hands on and whole learning experience to explore this monthly thematic series.  Part  of the Wonderment Series, the classes are created and taught by Szara Turpel, a home schooling Mom of three, with her B.Sc. in Biomedical science."  Szara's teaching (learning) philosophy is one in which the student is their own teacher; all others are simply guides; and that leanring is done best  when hands on and practical; keeping it fun, interesting and open.
