This is a great way to reinforce any information and it is always fun to look at. All you have to do is get one of the inexpensive scrapbooks that are available pretty much anywhere, and after each field trip write the name of the trip at the top of the page and then have the kids draw and briefly write about their adventure. I usually write for the younger ones. 2) Be sure to look on the front of the phone book starting on page 1 for coupons to many filed trips and restaurants. 3) Don't forget to make restaurants a fun part of your filed trip adventures. There are an abundance of great ethnic restaurants in Victoria. 4) It is not a bad idea to invest in an "entertainment " book if you are thinking of doing a lot of field trips. There are a lot of coupons in this book that can save you quite a bit of money. It usually only takes 2 coupons to recoup your money. 5) Don't forget to check this sites resource page for many ideas for science equipment, curriculum and more. 6) Did you know? If you are going on a field trip and are planning on using the BC ferries you may be able to get the children to ride for free. Just get the educational "institution" you are registered with to write you a letter regarding the reason for the trip (i.e.: field trip to science world) and show it at the booth upon payment. 7) It's always a nice idea to thank the people hosting your field trip. When the co-op I was involved in were studying the community and we visited the local farms each family took turns bringing a little gift (quite often home baking) to the field trip and giving in to the host. This eliminates the burden of remembering to send a thank you later. All our hosts were very appreciative! ARCHITECTURE: Click on entries listed below to jump to specific field trip. She was soon reunited with Prince Nicholas Abkhazi (a Georgian noble family) whom she had met in Paris in the 1920s. Nicholas had also spent time as a prisoner of war in Europe. They were married in Victoria and were soon building together their garden and their modest home with an intensity and uniqueness of vision that might be fairly described as a "garden that love built". Indeed, Princess Abkhazi referred to the garden as "their child" and to the garden making process remarking "when you are very much in love you don't go wrong" in two interviews I had with her in 1989-90. It may fairly be stated that this garden represents a very significant part of Victoria's horticultural heritage. This magnificent glass roofed conservatory houses rare and beautiful plants and flowers, set amongst wandering pathways, creeks and a wondrous waterfall. CAMOSUN COLLEGE DENTAL CLINIC CAMOSUN COLLEGE DENTAL CLINIC a highly recommended service! For those not covered by a dental plan this is an inexpensive way to maintain the children's dental health. They offer the full services of a hygienist (scaling, sealant, x-rays etc.,) They also provide great self-care instruction and a dentist examines your child's teeth and provides recommendations to any further work that may be necessary. Many kids really enjoy their visits. Some parents book their kids appointments together and ask for side-by-side chairs so that they can smile at each other as they undergo the fluoride treatment. Let the student hygienist know at the beginning that you are home schoolers and get a full explanation of all that they are doing. You can grab a chair and roll between the two kids and ask as many questions as you can. It becomes a great field trip!
